Panel-Focused Questions:

Dr. Iznan Tarip is a distinguished advocate for the empowerment of Muslim communities, whose longstanding commitment to advancing Islamic leadership makes his voice both timely and essential to this discussion. His work reflects a deep understanding of the challenges facing the Ummah today, as well as a clear vision for nurturing leadership that is rooted in Islamic principles while responsive to contemporary realities.

This webinar will explore a series of timely and forward-looking questions, designed to draw upon his extensive experience and to foster a dynamic and thought-provoking dialogue. The aim is to move beyond theoretical discussions and engage in meaningful conversations that address the practical dimensions of Islamic leadership in today’s complex and rapidly changing world.

Given Dr. Iznan Tarip’s expertise in Islamic leadership, we would be deeply honoured to benefit from his insights, particularly as our first panelist. We would especially value his reflections on the theme, “Redefining Islamic Leadership in the Modern World,” with a focused exploration of the following key questions:

  1. What does effective Islamic leadership look like today in non-religious spaces such as business, politics, education, and social activism?
How can leaders embody Islamic values like justice (
ʿadl), trust (amānah), and excellence (iḥsān) in environments that may not be structured around faith-based principles? What practical models or examples can guide Muslims in navigating these spaces while maintaining authenticity?

  2. How can Islamic leadership move beyond the traditional roles of imams and scholars to address contemporary societal, economic, and global challenges?
What is the role of professionals, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and community leaders in shaping the future of the Ummah? How can leadership be redefined as a shared responsibility rather than a role confined to religious authority?

  3. How can leaders maintain a strong connection to deen while actively engaging in dunya-driven environments without compromising their values?
What strategies can help individuals remain spiritually grounded while operating in high-pressure, results-driven contexts? How can one balance success with sincerity, and ambition with accountability to Allah (SWT)?

  4. In what ways can everyday Muslims—not just scholars—step into leadership roles and create meaningful impact within their communities?
What practical steps can individuals take to move from passive participation to active contribution? How can communities nurture and support emerging leaders at all levels?

  5. How can Islamic leadership evolve to be more accessible, relatable, and relevant to younger generations navigating modern realities?
What approaches can bridge the gap between traditional knowledge and contemporary challenges? How can leaders effectively engage youth, address their concerns, and inspire them to take ownership of their role in the Ummah?

We look forward to your valuable participation and insights, in shaa Allah. We strongly encourage you to register early and share this opportunity widely within your family, friends, and professional networks. Together, we can maximize the reach and benefit of this important initiative.

Yours sincerely,
Dr. Thamina (Samina) Anwar
